Teenage Perception

Conflicting emotions,
switching rapidly, without notice.
Great admiration turns to hostility,
leaving them dumbfounded.

Confusing feelings,
all the same, all different.
Not knowing how to feel about anyone,
not knowing what is real.

Wanting everything to go your way,
if not, then no way, they're all wrong.
Seeing things only the way you see it,
not considering that others might be right.

Angry at the world,
for all that it's given.
And all the same, mesmerized,
at what it has to offer.

Possibilities arise,
taking which ones seem good at the moment.
Ignoring could be consequences,
beleiving all will be fine.

Thinking you are god,
whom is untouchable.
Until the time comes,
when your lesson is taught.

Shattering complicated views,
thrown out the door, landing on your back.
Forced to reconstruct,
reluctant, but neccessary.

Eventually, as time passes,
you learn you're not god.
Other people count, their opinions valued,
the world revloves not just around you.

Accepting life as it comes,
is the lesson learned.
Along with knowing,
that not everything works out.

All this, learned from the teenage years.
