Meet Frank Learning To Be Life-Purpose: To change perspectives for human doing and being. Kinsmen /Healer/ Empath Profile boss: Healer

Frank's voice is calming, steadying. The phrase, "Still waters run deep," seems meant for the man with mellifluous tones quietly describing the way his life has changed. Raised in the American Midwest by "reasonably average" parents, Frank was the eldest of three boys. His dominant Styles, Kinsmen /Healer /Empath, made manifest at a young age. By core nature a caring, empathetic, and nurturing person driven to help Others in many ways, Frank found himSelf not quite fitting in with classmates and peers. This sense of not belonging was exacerbated by early experience with social ostracism -- a health problem kept him in the hospital for part of his early childhood, and his struggles were met with teasing and abandonment by "friends".

"I felt like I was different most of my life, especially because of that teasing early on. In my junior high and high school, I told everybody I was a monster and watched a lot of monster movies. I created this aura of being a little bit different, a little bit strange......But still, a lot of the kids liked me because I was very caring."

A phenomenal ability to listen and empathize made Frank a natural at the emotional aspects of friendship, but his emotional antennae were sometimes tuned in to the point of causing confusion. Still, curiousity about others and what "makes them tick", drove him to always learn more by using his natural skills in talking and listening.

"As a child, I was the listener that helped everybody else.....girls I liked would call me and tell me about their boyfriend problems....being Empath and being able to get inside of them and picking up on their feelings and making their feelings mine - it led to a lot of confusion. I grew up very lost as to who I am."

While school was a struggle, Frank's Healer and Empath Styles were brought to the forefront at home for the saddest of reasons. Tragedy struck Frank's family when the middle son, a second-grader at the time, was killed in a car accident. At the tender age of 9, Frank was ministering to his parents while dealing with his own grief.

"I think that's part of what brought it out of me -- my father had a heart attack and my mother was falling apart....Because I was religious and spiritual, I used to share on that level, about holding onto faith in God....being there for my mom is one of the things that grew on the Healer feelings, like I was there to help mom, because she took my brother's death very, very hard."

Like so many children with Empath in their Profile, Frank grew up to become an educator. He left the U.S. for a life Down Under, where he continued his exploration of what made Self and Others "tick". A fellow teacher was surfing the Ansir Web site during an Internet training sessions for teachers at Frank's school. Frank was intrigued by the questions and took down the URL to take the test himSelf. He recognized himSelf in profound ways in his Profiled Styles, and found a basis for the intuition, people-skills, strengths, and weaknesses that had been part of his life from the beginning.

"The biggest difference in my life since Ansir is that I am growing more and more confident....I know who I am better from it all, and I can see patterns that have always been there that I had ignored...it makes it easier to find success, and it makes it easier to understand what I'm supposed to be doing."

Finding his core nature not just explained, but accepted and validated made a tremendous difference in Frank's life. Newfound knowledge has helped him understand why he's so uniquely gifted, complex, and complicated, and he's applying confidence gained in his "real work", including that which falls outside the classroom.

"The strengths of my Empath side really help my Healer side -- I tune into people very, very easily.....I can see and feel and pick up and use all my senses, but that tuning tells me when people need to be listened to a little bit more, or just need a little bit more attention, or sometimes, even just being able to hear what they're saying and respond in ways that seem to be right. Empath understands unconditional love -- that teaching what real love is, and that, I think, is probably one of my strongest points."

An active member of the Ansir Community, Frank continues to learn and grow in his Profiled strengths and Purpose. In the intensive self-exploration that takes place in IMAGO, he learns more about himSelf and helps Others to learn, as well. And the solid rock he's leaned on during his time of change and growth, the Profiled understanding of his core, continues to hold up for him.

"One of the reasons why a test like this is helpful is that it creates firm ground while all the shifting is going on.....it gives something to come back to, to see that it's not 'all change all the time'.....there is something basic there that's always been there."

Frank has moved forward into more confident action than ever before, and the human rewards continue to grow as this HealerOne lives as born and meant.
